Hi, my name is Laurita de Diego Brako, just like my name I'm a blend of Spanish and Ghanaian.
I am the Director of Support•Change•Heal, a private practice I started over 7 years ago. I've been a practicing psychotherapist for over 10 years, and earned my Masters in Counselling Psychology with a concentration in Group Psychotherapy from the Adler University in Chicago.
My thoughts on therapy- I believe its important to take a holistic approach and address all aspects of the individual. Therapy is your journey and I am here to provide you with support along the way, cheerleading you as you make your way towards the destination you have set out for yourself. Therapy is a process and I encourage those I work with to be patient and kind to themselves throughout the journey.
Approaches used- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, and incorporate appropriate techniques from other approaches to suit your unique needs.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS)
Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing 1 (EMRD 1)
